2018 Farm Bill
Officially known as the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, federally legalized hemp and its derivatives in the United States. Specifically, it removed hemp—defined as cannabis with less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight—from the list of controlled substances. This legislation allows licensed growers and businesses to cultivate, process, and sell hemp-derived products, including cannabinoids like THCa, as long as they meet the federal THC limit. As a result, NC Bred Acquisition LLC (NCBRED) operates legally under this framework, offering compliant hemp products to adult consumers in accordance with both federal and North Carolina state laws.
